Will AJ Styles Actually Return to the Ring Tonight?

It might be worth the wait. As announced tonight on Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles will return to the ring on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live to defend the Smackdown World Title against James Ellsworth. This will be Styles’ first match back after injuring his ankle at Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

The match was set up a few weeks back on Smackdown Live when Ellsworth defeated Styles in a ladder match to earn not only the title shot but also his official contract. This was the third time Styles had lost to Ellsworth, who claims to have Styles’ number. Ellsworth would use this as his mindset behind costing Dean Ambrose the title match at Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

While I can’t imagine WWE actually does anything screwy with the title Tuesday night, you never really know with SmackDown Live. Ellsworth has had a great run but the idea of actually putting the title on him would be going too far with the idea. Just let Styles defeat him once and for all to end the feud, just like he should.
