WWE is looking to create the event as a pay-per-view at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Australia. The arena has a capacity of over 100, 000 and is the 10th largest stadium in the world.
Herald Sun, a major newspaper in Australia, is reporting that WWE have partnered up with Visit Victoria with the intent to put on a show in early October.
This would be one week after the Australian Football League (AFL) grand final, which is also set to take place at the MCG. The date of the grand final is September 29, meaning the show would take place on either October 8 or 9, depending on if WWE intends to air the show live, due to the time difference. The usual PPV would for Australians take place late morning-midday on a Monday as opposed to late Sunday night for Americans.

The announcement for the PPV in Australia is expected to take place at ‘WrestleMania 34’ on April 8. Names like The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena are expected to be there.
If indeed this show does take place, WrestlingInc notes that it would shatter the previous attendance record for an event in Australia. Currently, this is owned by UFC 193 which featured Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm.
It is estimated that the show would bring in more than $100 million for the state’s economy and lead to the creation of 900 jobs, which is huge for the area.
If this arena were filled, it would surpass every single ‘WrestleMania’ attendance record, besides ‘WrestleMania 32,’ though the attendance for that show varies to under 100, 000 as well.
