A huge name on the independent circuit has now made their WWE debut for NXT UK. The debut occurred during the second day of tapings at the SkyDome Arena in Coventry, England.
Confronting former WWE NXT UK Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, independent star Viper made her debut for the new developmental brand. Viper is an iconic name in the UK professional wrestling scene and wrestled for WWE as part of the Mae Young Classic. She worked under the name of “Piper Niven” and had a good showing.
In fact, you can see a glimpse of her in action in the clip below. Taken from the Mae Young Classic- Viper takes on the current WWE NXT UK Women’s Champion in Toni Storm.
It is unclear as to which name Viper will be referred to as. Given she has competed under the name “Piper Niven” with WWE in the past, it is likely WWE will want to keep that moniker on her. Additionally, her name may confuse some fans- given Randy Orton is known as the “Viper.”
One of her best friends and biggest rivals in Kay Lee Ray also made her debut for NXT UK during the tapings. It is possible the two could team up if WWE were to have The Boss ‘N Hug Connection defend their Women’s Tag Team Championship on the brand.
Check her out in the photo below:
Stay tuned to Wrestling Rumors for updates on what took place at the NXT UK tapings. The future of Viper in NXT UK seems bright- but time will tell as to how her character plays out to the audience.
Editor’s Note:
I am a massive Viper fan. She’s an incredible addition to the roster. Look forward to seeing what she does over the coming weeks/months.
