Tonight was the final edition of ‘Smackdown Live’ before the upcoming ‘Battleground’ pay-per-view this weekend. Opening with Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton, it seems that fans would go home to the same tune.

Orton climbs the Punjabi Prison to issue a warning to Mahal: SmackDown LIVE, July 18, 2017

After ‘Smackdown Live’ and 205 Live were taped this week, John Cena and Randy Orton came out to face Rusev and Jinder Mahal in a tag team match. Orton would eventually hit the RKO on Mahal allowing Cena to hit the Attitude Adjustment on Rusev for the victory to send the fans home happy.

Here is a clip of the ending of the match taken by a member of the WWE Universe in attendance:

Editor’s Note:

Smackdown seems to have a lot of focus on tag matches of some kind. I don’t mind the match here as a show ending bout as it gives the talent one final chance to shine before they leave for the next show. However, on the show itself it can come off bad as it sometimes feels that they clog all feuds up into tag matches just so they have a spot on the card.
