Benjamin explained that he had been renting the car from Budget Car Rental and been driving around in the vehicle for the past four days.
It was only when he looked in the glove compartment when he founded the loaded gun, a Ruger. He had the following to say, clearly and rightfully furious over the incident:
“Thank you @Budget (LIT) for your great service of putting my reputation, freedom and quite possibly my life in jeopardy I’ve unknowingly been driving your car around the last 4 days with a F’N LOADED GUN in the Glove compartment!!”

Eventually, the rental service would respond to Benjamin. Here was their response:
“Hi Shelton! We are truly sorry to hear about this unfortunate situation. We have turned this matter over to local law enforcement for an appropriate investigation. ~April”

Some were fine with that response, but others seemed to be furious that the company didn’t apologize in a sufficient enough manner.
Benjamin has not tweeted since that, so at this time we are unsure if there are any updates to the investigation and if a culprit is found, but we hope that Benjamin is compensated for this matter.

What are your thoughts on this situation? Do you believe the response from Budget was sufficient?
