Former WWE Champion Roman Reigns was interviewed by SunSport, where he clarified why he doesn’t care if you boo him and neither does WWE.

To any writers, including The Sportster’s Chris Featherstone, it is still challenging as to why fans are still against Reigns. He has had several of the biggest matches and feuds over the past few years and hasn’t held a World Championship since two years ago when he lost his Championship to Seth Rollins at Money In The Bank before Dean Ambrose cashed in to become Champion.

Reigns commented extensively on the crowd being against him:

“I’ve done what I’m supposed to do and that draws people into the building, I think the way I can fight is to just continue to do what I do – to continue to show up. What I and everybody in WWE thinks is to go out there and work hard and continue to show why I am the guy.”

“It’s not easy doing this every single day, going to every single town, and getting a reaction. And that’s what I do regardless of whether it’s all cheers, a mixed reaction, or heavy boos. We have to look at it as a global company. We’re not just worried about the one town that we’re in, we’re covering our entire fanbase. The WWE Universe is humongous. We have to keep that in mind.”

These are very powerful, telling words. There is a significant portion of the audience that remain fans of Reigns, even if the others hate him.

To put this hatred into perspective, it is generally agreed upon at this point that Reigns has improved in every aspect of his work throughout the past few years. He also follows the rules WWE gives him, so the problem people have moreso seems to be based on WWE and not Reigns himself.

In a similar light, Reigns has lost the majority of PPV matches he has been involved in over the past few years, often still being billed around the top of the card.

It seems that the latest feud WWE plans for Reigns is to face the controversial Jinder Mahal, a former WWE Champion.

Check out a clip from Raw that showcases the feud:
