The indie scene is alive and well. With the creation of AEW and the contracts available through WWE, Lucha Underground, ROH, NJPW and various other companies, wrestlers are making a mark now, more than ever.
Several indie stars have been rumored to be WWE bound over the past few months. One of these individuals, in fact, is former ROH and Impact Wrestling star ACH. Of course, ACH recently made his WWE debut at an NXT live event.
The latest indie star to reportedly be WWE bound is Shane Strickland. Strickland has been rumored to be heading to WWE for months. The former MLW World Heavyweight Champion has reportedly finished up with several companies on his way to WWE.
You can see Strickland in action through the fantastic video below:
In the latest update to the story, PWInsider has confirmed that Strickland has said goodbye to DEFY Wrestling last night. In his goodbye speech, it was noted that he would be moving on to “bigger and better things.”
Given the relationship WWE has with EVOLVE, in association with the rumors of him potentially signing with WWE, it seems evident now that Strickland could be making his WWE debut within the next few weeks.
Below we’ve featured several tweets from the DEFY Wrestling event:

Editor’s Note:
Strickland is an incredible indie wrestler. I really do look forward to what he does in his future. Hope that if he is WWE bound, he makes an impact.
