To sell the angle between Owens and Sami Zayn vs. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan following what transpired this week on the blue show. This saw the recently cleared Bryan fire Owens and Zayn for what they had done to McMahon the week before- also subsequently resulting in an attack from the furious talent.
Owens has now changed his Twitter handle to @FightSteenFight, a reference to his name on the independent scene-n where he was known as Kevin Steen. That name may be familiar to WWE fans, as his real name is Kevin Yanick Steen.
In addition to this, both Zayn and Owens have had their profiles removed from the roster page on WWE.com to the alumni section.
The following video was the final straw after Bryan had fired Zayn and Owens, if you missed ‘SmackDown Live’ this week.
Are you enjoying the feud? How did you feel about the segment with Bryan?
