As reported on by TMZ, Edwards took a baseball bat to the face which has resulted in a broken orbital bone and a broken nose. He is lucky to have not suffered any permanent injuries to his eye, as doctors expected.
Callihan reportedly felt terrible about the accident and was emotional behind the scenes, but you wouldn’t see that coming if you’ve been paying attention to social media, or TMZ themselves.
Check this clip out for what Callihan had to say on the incident:
Jim Cornette took to his Twitter account, furious with the news that came out.
OK, I just saw this for the first time– @TheEddieEdwards should have beat the shit out of this stupid fuck–he set it up shoddy, was careless with his shitty swing & they shouldn't have been doing it to begin with. Who the fuck "trained" @TheSamiCallihan ? I'm fucking hot. https://t.co/lpTIqxca29

Taking this as a joke, Callihan responded, saying he’ll just keep watching his money rise.
This hurts Jimmy…. I’ll just keep watching my bank account go up. https://t.co/EAY7JVKSKG

This prompted NXT Superstar and indie veteran Kassius Ohno to respond to Callihan.
Really? Really? There is ZERO correlation between how much money you make & what happened in that ring. You should be embarrassed. ASHAMED.

It is likely that Callihan is attempting to take his heel persona to another level, being the worst (most evil) wrestler on the planet.
For now, Edwards appears to be fine and appeared for TMZ himself during a segment to explain to fans what exactly happened.

What are your thoughts on this incident? Could it have been avoided? How has Callihan’s response made you think?
