Cena is no stranger to the spotlight.Without even including the achievements from his WWE career, he is becoming a huge movie star and has the record for granting the most wishes for the Make-A-Wish foundation.
For the second year in a row, Cena has confirmed that he will be hosting the Kids’ Choice Awards. This, of course, is an awards show targeting kids and actors who star in programming specifically oriented towards that demographic.
Variety has also reported that Cena is to star in “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and be an executive producer on a new gameshow called “Keep it Spotless.”
On the ‘Ninja Turtles’ show, Cena will be playing Baron Draxum who is an original villain exclusive to the show.
Cena had the following to say on working for the show:
“If you were of my age, you know ‘Ninja Turtles,’ you were a fan of ‘Ninja Turtles. Being able to recreate ‘Ninja Turtles’ and be involved in the franchise is really special.”
On the other hand, while it is unknown if Cena will work on-camera, “Keep it Spotless” reportedly takes inspiration from shows like “Double Dare” and “You Can’t do That on Television.”
So far, the show appears to be based around kid contestants competing for cash prizes. They must pass through a series of obstacles that mess up the contestants outfit. The aim is to be as spotless as possible at the end of the course.
Cena explained the show a little more:
“It’s like the chaos and the slime-ability of Kids’ Choice meets that crazy scene in the original ‘Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory’ where everyone is wearing white suits and the kid gets transported through the TV. It’s gonna be super special to kids.”
The Kids’ Choice Awards are set to air on Nickelodeon on March 24. The other two shows should have a reveal date set for later this year.
Cena tweeted the following in regards to the Nickelodeon news:
The excitement can NOT be contained!
It’s official: It’s slime season and I’m back to host the @Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards for a second time on March 24 at 8pm/7c! #KCA pic.twitter.com/AiCYSYeL1z
