Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided an update on what the current status of former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville is in WWE.

Over the past few months, the situation with Neville has gone back and forth. At times it seems Neville was willing to return to the company and continue working in some capacity, but talks between the two keep reportedly breaking down.

At this time the situation is this. Neville has quit the company, but is under contract. WWE are refusing to provide him with his release.

If Neville publicly discusses anything in regards to his contract or status with the company he will be breaching his contract which will ultimately cause legal ramifications for the former NXT Champion.

Neville intends to go elsewhere to work, but is in a current state of limbo. Meltzer noted that Neville is not being paid due to his suspension until he returns to work. If he does, he will resume getting paid. With him not being able to work anywhere else, he is being pushed into the proverbial corner.

Current WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore recently gave his thoughts on Neville. You can read that here.

It is unknown when Neville’s contract with WWE expires or whether they will pursue legal action against him for not working, but Wrestling Rumors will continue to update you as we learn more.
