WWE COO Triple H revealed in his weekly sit-down interview with Michael Cole that he wants there to be one champion to represent WWE.

“With the brand extension no longer in effect, there’s no need for two champions,” he said.”We only need one. If you represent the WWE as its champion, you represent the world.”

John Cena and Randy Orton will be putting their World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Championship up for grabs respectively at the upcoming TLC pay-per-view, with both belts hanging above the ring. Triple H would go on to say that he believes the WWE Championship has an illustrious history, and this match will help determine who should be the man to wear it.

It is unknown at this time if both belts will be unified entirely, but these comments further speculation that they will be.
