Early Tuesday morning, it was officially announced WrestleMania 32 would be hailing from AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. It has potential to be the largest WrestleMania crowd of all-time, given the stadium’s capability to host almost 110,000 spectators.
Speaking with DallasNews.com, Charlotte Jones Anderson, daughter of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, noted WrestleMania was the perfect lore for the stadium:
“When we set out to build the stadium, we were looking at all the really big events, marquee events,” said Anderson, daughter of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. “This was one of them. When you look at an event this size, and when it has an incredible impact … it was certainly one we wanted to do our best to secure.”
She also noted meeting with Vince McMahon is not the easiest thing…and that’s coming from the daughter of Jerry Jones:
“I don’t know if you’ve ever walked into a room with Vince McMahon, but it’s certainly an intimidating process,” said Anderson, laughing. “I know everybody thinks Daddy’s intimidating, but that’s because they haven’t met Vince McMahon yet.”
The highest-attended basketball game of all-time was held at the stadium, as the 2010 NBA All-Star game drew more than 108,000 people. It is plausible WWE could exceed 100,000 with WrestleMania, based on stage setup.
An official press conference will be held Tuesday with several WWE Superstars alongside McMahon present. WrestleMania 32 will be held April 3, 2016.
