John Laurinaitis has made his WWE return at a house show in Doha, Qatar. It is unknown what his role was, but Twitter user A_Kareem_9 posted the picture of the former General Manager of RAW and Smackdown holding a microphone.
It is one of Laurinaitis’ first roles since resigning from his full-time duties as Executive Vice-President of Talent Relations within WWE. He was last seen on WWE TV in mid-June, after he was “fired” by Vince McMahon. “Johnny Ace” had earned his position of GM after “Team Johnny” won its WrestleMania match at last year’s big event. Prior to this, he had a several-month feud with then-WWE Champion CM Punk, which saw him become one of the more hated heels in the company.
Following his dismissal, he continued to appear at WWE events, and began his role as an agent assisting in booking matches. Laurinaitis had wrestled a successful career internationally, including a lengthy stint in All Japan Pro Wrestling. He took a leave of absence later in the year to repair some injuries he had suffered on the road.
There have been many rumblings as to whether Laurinaitis will ever return to television, and the general consensus appears to be that he may once he is physically cleared to do so. If these events are any indication, he may be back sooner than previously though.
