Seth Rollins shocked the wrestling world on Monday night, when he turned his back on his Shield brethren and and seemingly joined Triple H’s Evolution faction. And according to F4WOnline.com, the shocking heel turn has been planned for a little while now.
According to the report, WWE has had its eyes on turning Rollins for about a month now. He stood out in the match between The Shield and Evolution at “Extreme Rules” in May, and WWE heads took notice. In the match, Rollins jumped off the railing at the Izod Center in the Meadowlands, and came crashing down on the competitors out in the crowd.
Wrestling Rumors noted for some time a split between Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Rollins had been planned, and the decision was made within the last four weeks to actually make it happen. Pairing Rollins with Evolution is believed to be a way to kickstart a program between Reigns and the COO Triple H in time for “SummerSlam.”
As noted in this week’s “Smackdown” spoilers, Rollins does in fact appear alongside Triple H, seemingly confirming his siding with the faction. More information (and spoilers) on that can be found here.
