WWE’s developmental system NXT held its second special event on Thursday, “NXT Takeover,” which streamed live on the WWE Network to a large audience. While many of the fans reacted positively, it is even more apparent now the event was more of a success than thought.

According to PWInsider.com, higher ups in WWE alongside the NXT team were very happy with how the event went. Moreover, they believed that it went over very well as a production, making the evening feel big.

The report states the entire NXT roster was actually watching the event together. They were gathered with one another in an auditorium on the Full Sail University campus, and the consensus was WWE “hit a home run” with the show. The show itself was taped at Full Sail, like all the other NXT events.

The show was so successful that a “This is awesome!” chant started in nearly every match, including the NXT Women’s Championship match between Charlotee and Natalya that closed with an embrace between WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair and Bret Hart. The event is already available for playback on the network.

Editor’s Note:

Why should we be surprised? The show was in fact awesome, and it was a little terrifying given the current state of the main roster and WWE.
