Batista Talks Royal Rumble; Revealing Problems Prior to Entrance

In about two weeks, WWE will release a DVD on Batista, titled “Batista: The Animal Unleashed.” In anticipation of its release, WrestlingDVDNews.com published a preview clip of the documentary portion.

In the clip, Batista talks about his return to WWE at the 2014 “Royal Rumble,” where he won the 30-man Royal Rumble match. He revealed that his trunks were not designed correctly, and were also made too small. However, “The Animal” took full responsibility for the mishap. Continuing, he also noted that the zipper on one of his new boots broke, and it was barely fixed in time for his entrance. Then, things got worse as he had a hard time finding the gorilla position, before finally making his way out to the ring.

Editor’s Note

I believe that this makes some sense of Batista’s rusty start to his role in the 30-man Royal Rumble match. However, it definitely doesn’t justify the lackluster performance. Let us know in the comments if you think that the problems beforehand altered Batista’s performance that night.
