Nikki & Brie Return to Action
The Bella Twins, who recently returned to the WWE in a series of backstage segments on Monday Night Raw, returned to action at this week’s NXT television tapings. They defeated Cameron and Naomi – also known as the Funkadactyls – in tag team Divas action.
Bray Wyatt WWE Bound?
Rumor has been circulating for months that NXT Superstar Bray Wyatt is close to being called up to the main roster, to debut on either Raw or Smackdown. The third generation wrestler recently returned from an injury suffered in July of 2012, and began working undercard matches at NXT television tapings. While injured, he founded a faction known as the Wyatt Family, consisting of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
During this week’s NXT taping event, Wyatt worked a main event match against special guest and WWE Superstar Chris Jericho. While Bray lost the match via submission to the Walls of Jericho, many consider his placement on the card as a sign of things to come, and believe he is still in line to be one of the next NXT starts called up to the main roster.
WWE has made several attempts to use Wyatt (real name: Windham Rotunda) in the past. In 2010 he was a competitor on the second season of NXT (before it was a developmental promotion), before making his WWE debut as a part of Wade Barrett and CM Punk’s Nexus factions, working programs with big names like John Cena and Randy Orton. It was Orton who punted Wyatt, then wrestling as “Husky Harris”, giving him a storyline injury that lead to his demotion back down to WWE’s developmental program.
