Ah, WWE 2K. You might not be the best wrestling game around, but you are the only one. Now a major flub in the 2K17 edition is making the rounds, and frankly we’re surprised it’s taken so long to get noticed.
As always, the game features Lawler on commentary with a combination of lines recorded for previous games and brand new ones. The repetitious nature of the commentary is a well-known complaint among players, but this year’s edition includes something way more ridiculous.
That is an unedited take where Lawler makes multiple mistakes, gets corrected, and starts over the lines in the recording booth. It seems somebody at 2K neglected to cut down the audio to only feature the correct take. Check it out below, thanks to a Twitter user.
So Lawler calls the Goodfather the Godfather, misspeaks, and starts all over again. And it’s all in there, unedited. I’d make some sarcastic remark about 2K’s QA team, but honestly this is far more entertaining than the game’s normal commentary.
Outside the world of video games, Lawler is still making occasional appearances in the announce booth. He commentated the main event of the Royal Rumble just a month ago.
My question: Will anyone bother to patch this out? Let us know what you think down in the comments, or on Facebook!
