So long, farewell. With Kurt Angle going into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017, his time on the independent scene is starting to wind down. Over the last year or so, Angle has been taking a much more relaxed schedule and only wrestling on very select weekends. With the Hall of Fame induction coming in about five weeks, Angle’s last independent match has been announced.

According to 411mania.com, Angle’s final indy match before heading back to WWE will be a steel cage match against Cody Rhodes. The match will take place on March 3 at the Wrestlefest show in Danbury, Connecticut. This will be the third match in a series between the two of them with both having won a match already. Angle will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 31 over “Wrestlemania XXXIII” weekend.

Cody Rhodes vs Kurt Angle - The 3rd Match - Hype Video

Opinion: Angle always talks about wanting to put new talent over and having a trilogy on the independent circuit against someone like Rhodes is a great way to do just that. Rhodes is one of the hotter names in wrestling at the moment and having a series of matches against Angle is going to do nothing but good for him.

Do you think Angle or Rhodes wins? Who will induct Angle into the Hall of Fame? Let us know in the comments below.
