You knew this one was coming. Last week on “Monday Night Raw”, Bayley upset Charlotte to become the Raw Women’s Champion for the first time. This continued Charlotte’s streak of losing the title on “Monday Night Raw” though every time before she’s won it back in the pay per view rematch, which brings us to this week.

Earlier tonight on “Monday Night Raw”, Charlotte announced that she was invoking her rematch clause and will face Bayley for the title again at “Fastlane 2017”. This came after Bayley refused to relinquish the title back to Charlotte due to Sasha Banks interfering in the title change the previous week. Stephanie McMahon seemed to approve the match, thereby making it official.

Opinion: I already wrote a full column on how this doesn’t make a ton of sense and that’s still the case here. Bayley didn’t need to win the title this early in the first place and I don’t see the need to hand it right back to Charlotte so soon. It’s pretty clear that we’re going to get a Banks heel turn at the pay per view but that doesn’t mean it was the best move overall. Either way, you can see the four way with these three and Nia Jax at “wrestlemania XXXIII” from here so this is more of a formality than anything else.
