The rumor mill is cranking, but even as the WrestleMania card has started taking shape it seems there’s still one major name missing from the card.
We’ve got Goldberg and Lesnar. Undertaker and Roman. Owens and Jericho. Seth and Triple H–assuming the injury gets worked out in time. Reports are still going strong of Shane McMahon and AJ Styles. It even looks like we’re doing a couples’ match.
But one name that’s not on this list is the current Intercontinental Champion, Dean Ambrose. He’s scheduled for a big match at Elimination Chamber as part of the main event, but that means he’s not likely to have another major title defense before WrestleMania.
That means the Intercontinental Champ, and one of WWE’s biggest workhorses, still doesn’t have a WrestleMania match. There had been potential based on the current storyline for Dean to have a mixed tag match with Renee Young against the Miz and Maryse, but it seems that John Cena has taken over those plans.
Where does that leave Ambrose? We don’t know. Based on what we’ve heard about WrestleMania, the card is filling up fast–at this rate, Dean could be relegated to the battle royal or even the pre-show.
That would be a disappointment. (Even if we are getting more than a little tired of the Lunatic Lariat.)
