You might have heard this one before, but I’m gonna let you in on a wrestling industry secret: John Cena is a pretty cool dude.
Sure, you might be sick of the same face running the place after a decade, or taking breaks from wrestling only to return to main event spots.
But when it comes to making kids happy? Well, I can’t really hold it against him.
If you missed the aftermath of last night’s AJ Styles vs. John Cena match, after winning the title, Cena went to the crowd in celebration.
There, he put the WWE Championship on the shoulder of a Make-a-Wish kid in attendance.
Golly, Cena, you just make it so hard to hate you.
Cena’s world title win was his 16th, tying Ric Flair’s historic record. The nature boy offered some kind words to Cena afterwards.
Congrats on #16 @JohnCena! Never Forget…
To be the man, you gotta beat the man – WOOOOO!

The match with Styles was an incredible one, and well worth the historic honor–though WWE oddly elected to downplay this reign’s significance. Cena’s not expected to hang onto the title for very long, however, as reports suggest a new champion being crowned at Elimination Chamber.
In any case, it’s tough to argue Cena’s place in the company after moments like the one above.
