So long chum. “NXT” has had a pretty standard commentary team for a long time now, save for the addition of Percy Watson a few months back. Other than that though, it’s been Corey Graves and Tom Phillips for most of 2016 with Graves being around for over two years now. However, that changed on the “Takeover: San Antonio” pre-show.

During the pre-show, Graves announced that he was leaving the position, which will be filled by Nigel McGuinness, who debuted during the WWE UK Title Tournament. McGuinness was the longtime commentator on “Ring of Honor” TV. Graves still did commentary on tonight’s show and will be appearing full time on “Monday Night Raw”.

You kind of had to know this one was coming and I’m happy for Graves. He went from a good wrestler to someone who was thrown into commentary, only to thrive there. McGuinness is a fine replacement and maybe he can drown out the completely worthless (not bad, but worthless) Percy Watson.
