Sasha Banks recaptured the Women’s Championship in the main event of Raw last night, and the eventual rematch with Charlotte is all but guaranteed, with a victory for either star likely to put the feud to rest.
It’s no surprise to hear rumors that this final match would take place at Raw’s upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, but it sounds like the stakes are being upped considerably for the women’s division.
On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Sasha Banks is set to defend the title against Charlotte inside Hell in a Cell.
This would be the first women’s division match inside the structure. Rumors circulated a couple of years ago about a Bella vs. Bella match in Hell in a Cell, but those plans never materialized.
Naturally, you can take all of this with a grain of salt, as plans are always subject to change.
However, with a women’s match having just main evented Raw for the first time in 12 years, a terrific crowd response to both Charlotte and Sasha Banks, and a tremendous push for the division to matter, now is the perfect time to book a Women’s Championship defense in WWE’s most brutal arena.
