Since the brand split, it’s been clear that SmackDown is the better show. Whether that’s down to a better champion in AJ Styles, better commentary with Mauro Ranallo, or the simple lack of fatigue from three hours of weekly programming, the fact remains that the blue brand is where it’s at.
Even Raw mainstays are aware that, while ratings victories are only coming occasionally, SmackDown is where the quality is. That bit of public opinion is slowly creeping into on-screen storylines.
It was a talking point when Stephanie McMahon offered her performance review of Raw GM Mick Foley, and with the GM on shaky ground everyone is swooping in for a piece of the action.
Lana tweeted this out yesterday:

The obvious read is that Foley is just furthering the existing storyline, but his place on WWE programming has always been a bit of a shaky subject. Reports suggest that he’s not under permanent contract for televised appearances, so his role as Raw GM could theoretically end at any time.
On top of that, it’s not like his character has been especially compelling on Monday nights. Notwithstanding some solid verbal encounters with Sami Zayn, Mick’s role as GM hasn’t done much for the red brand–especially considering the quality Daniel Bryan has brought to SmackDown.
So Lana as Raw GM? Unlikely. New Raw GM in the near future? Far from outside the realm of possibility.
