Long-time WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia announced her departure from the company earlier this year to care for her father during his struggles with cancer. Eduardo Garcia lost his fight with the disease on Christmas day.

Lilian had been recording a regular podcast during her time as a caregiver, and was last seen at WWE’s Tribute to the Troops, during a clearly emotional performance of the national anthem. That performance is even more meaningful now.

She announced the news with strength an optimism through a post on social media.

Our condolences to Lilian and the entire Garcia family.
