We hear about the financials of WWE as a company all the time. But how about how much their top executives make? Given that the McMahons are as much TV characters as backstage officials, there’s more curiosity here than with most programs.
Luckily, thanks to a report from this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), we now have some pretty exacting answers. These numbers are all based on 2016.
Let’s start with the big boss himself, Vince McMahon. Vince’s base salary is $1.4 million. Add to that performance incentives, 401k, and life insurance payments, subtract some taxes, and Mr. McMahon brough home a cool $3,071,600.
Triple H outdid Vince at $3,993,417. That’s including salary, stock, incentives, and payments as on-screen talent.
When you add in Vince’s stock, however, the story is much different. He earned $17,056,020 in stock dividends alone.
Stephanie earned about $3 million between executive pay, talent pay, and stock dividends. Shane McMahon earned $2,150,000 purely as an on-screen character.
Interestingly, the mentioned performance incentives include better numbers for the WWE Network–not in terms of subscribers, but in average hours watched per subscriber.
And in case you’re wondering, Kevin Dunn earned $4,637,652.
It’s certainly an interesting peek behind the curtain. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below, or on Facebook!
