Just because we currently “can’t see” John Cena wrestle on WWE programming, doesn’t mean we have to wait much longer for his return.

As seen on the Aug. 11 edition of WWE “Tough Enough,” Cena has officially agreed to put his United States Championship on the line against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a Title vs. Title Match at WWE “SummerSlam” on Aug. 23 from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

During the episode, Cena sat down with “Tough Enough” host Chris Jericho to discuss his current injury status. WWE posted the following picture on their official Twitter account:

As previously reported, Cena suffered a severely fractured nose at the hands (or knee) of Rollins during their United States Championship match on the July 27 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” Cena has been off WWE programming ever since, which has been met with much pleasure by “The Architect.”

During the Aug. 3 edition of “Raw,” Rollins challenged Cena to a “Winner Take All” Title vs. Title Match at “SummerSlam,” and we had yet to hear Cena’s reponse until now.

Cena told Jericho and the WWE Universe that he would be “ready to go” for the “Winner Take All” match. Jericho then asked if he accepted Rollins’ challenge, causing Cena to respond in a Daniel Bryan style “YES!”

Cena also stated that Triple H wouldn’t make a good odds-maker if he truly thought that he was only “50-50 for SummerSlam.”

It finally seems that on Aug. 23 at “SummerSlam,” the CHAMPS ARE HERE!

Editor’s Note:

While some people had their doubts as to whether or not Super Cena would be competing in a match at “SummerSlam,” I never thought for a second he would miss “The Biggest Party of the Summer.” I mean he has returned from so many injuries sooner than expected, and the guy never quits. I have thoroughly enjoyed the segments we have gotten from Rollins the past two weeks in Cena’s absence building this match. These guys have great chemistry in the ring, and I have no doubt they will put on a stellar match. However, I honestly can’t see either man walking away with both titles, so I am not ready to make a prediction just yet. For now, I will just sit back and enjoy.
