The card for WWE “SummerSlam” on Aug. 23 at Barclays Center is beginning to take shape.

WWE has confirmed that The Primetime Players will defend the WWE Tag Team Championships in a Fatal 4-Way Match against Los Matadores, The New Day and the Lucha Dragons at the pay-per-view.

The match was made official during a backstage segment between The New Day and Renee Young during the Aug. 10 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” The New Day had just defeated Los Matadores in a tag team match earlier in the evening, and continued their celebration into the backstage area.

WWE shared The New Day’s reaction on their official Twitter account:

The New Day have had several title shots over the last few pay-per-views, trying to regain the titles they lost back at WWE “Money In The Bank” on July 14. In addition, all four of these teams have been competing against each other in various matches on WWE programming as well.

Editor’s Note:

I am glad WWE decided to involve all four of these teams in the mix for the tag titles. In my opinion, nobody is more over then The New Day right now, and I expect them to regain the titles at “SummerSlam.”
