A new report from Bryan Alvalrez and Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com and “Wrestling Observer Radio” has provided an update on Adrian Neville’s future. As previously reported, WWE will be bringing Neville up to the main roster soon, but the new report claims he isn’t done in NXT just yet.
According to Alvarez and Meltzer, WWE wants to keep Neville in NXT for a while. Before he gets made into a main roster darling, the company wants to run at least two other feuds with the high-flyer in Florida.
Independent wrestling has seen match-ups such as the ones being made in NXT, but the company wants to highlight some of the Indy-feuds from the past on a much larger scale. We’ve seen Neville vs. Sami Zayn, which culminated with Zayn finally winning the NXT Championship from the man formerly known as PAC on the independent circuit. Now, we’re seeing another feud that was popular outside of World Wrestling Entertainment, Kevin Owens (Steen) vs. Zayn (El Generico).
WWE wants to put Neville in a Triple Threat Match with Zayn and Owens, as well as have two other singles programs happen before he leaves NXT for good. Neville is expected to match-up against Hideo Itami, formerly KENTA, before leaving the promotion. Both men were international superstars who could tear the house down together and should breed fantastic NXT matches.
The other feud officials want to see is Neville vs. Finn Bálor, who was Fergal “Prince” Devitt before signing with WWE. Another international independent star, WWE is seemingly snatching up many of the top Indy stars who have history together, making the future of the WWE main roster seem bright.
Editor’s Note:
Neville will do gangbuster matches with anyone, anywhere. Will love watching these program come to fruition.
