With former NXT Champion Adrian Neville’s main roster arrival presumed to be just around the corner, rumors are beginning to circulate over a possible gimmick change when he does appear on weekly television.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that WWE is considering giving Neville a “Mighty Mouse” gimmick, mainly because of the strength he possesses for such a short (5’9″) competitor.

This would involve Neville wearing a mask, which is something he didn’t do on the NXT brand.

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez mentioned how the gimmick has been discussed, although it’s not set in stone by any means.

He also noted that WWE would like more of a Crash Holly-esque character, working as an underdog because of his stature. This wouldn’t involve a costume change, though.

Editor’s Note

We’re making progress now. As long as the mask and costume change remains out of the equation, I’ll be satisfied.
