A recent report from PWInsider.com claims that event though they made offers, TNA fails to sign Edge as an on-air authority figure for their television program, “IMPACT WRESTLING.” As previously reported, TNA has been making offers to former WWE superstars in order to have notable faces on their newly “re-launched” television product. However, it seems as if they’ve been dangling worms in front of the fish, without getting any bites.
TNA reportedly went after Alberto Del Rio (El Patrón) and WWE Hall of Famer Edge. With Kurt Angle returning to active competition for his final run in professional wrestling, the company wanted someone else to take his place as the on-screen authority figure. They wanted that man to be Edge.
Edge and former partner Christian had recently appeared on WWE programming the Monday before “IMPACT WRESTLING” made it’s debut on Destination America, and the company thought it would have been a major “get” to have the WWE Hall of Famer on their program just days after he was hosting “Monday Night Raw.” Edge apparently didn’t want any part of it, as negotiations never even made it to monetary discussions.
Editor’s Note:
Seriously? Why would Edge go to TNA for a job like that?
