Rey Mysterio Having Surgery on 6/19

Former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio Jr. has taken to Twitter to announce that he will be having surgery on Wednesday, June 19th (6/19…fitting right?). Mysterio first announced his upcoming procedure Tuesday night on Twitter, saying…

He then updated his status on Wednesday morning just before going under the knife…

Mysterio is being discussed for a couple of different matches and programs upon his return. WWE officials would love to have “Mr. 619” face United States Champion Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam in August, but that can only happen if Mysterio is completely healed and ready to compete by then. The former champion hasn’t been on television since an attack by Mark Henry in March. Could he jump into a feud with Henry upon his return, or will he dance with the only singles champion in The Shield?
