Former World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry teased all weekend that he would be retiring on June 17th’s episode of Monday Night Raw, and when the time came, he played everyone, especially WWE Champion John Cena. Henry came out dressed in a blazer and tie (a salmon blazer…like the one Vince McMahon was fired in) and carrying his wrestling boots, as if to “hang them up.” He interrupted John Cena, after Cena said he can handle any challenge brought his way, and hits the ring to announce “he’s finished with professional wrestling.”

After Cena gives Henry the belt to hold, Henry sells the retirement so well that he receives a monster pop, then delivers a “world’s strongest slam.” He leaves yelling, “that’s what I do,” and saying that he has a lot left in his tank. Henry then made a challenge to Cena backstage for the WWE Championship, which Vickie Guerrero and Vince McMahon confirmed would take place at July’s Money in the Bank event. Judging by Cena’s response and the reaction of wrestling fans on Twitter, Henry accomplished his goal. He gets his WWE Championship match, and he played the entire WWE Universe like a bunch of puppets.
