The Trentonian News out of New Jersey recently posted an interview with legendary manager and former ECW promoter, Paul Heyman. In this interview, Heyman talks about WrestleMania 29 being in his hometown, his friendships/work relationships with Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, the Superstars for Sandy Relief, and Stephanie McMahon.

When asked about WrestleMania being in New York, Lesnar’s hometown, he had this to say, “It means everything,” Paul Heyman said, referring to the New York/New Jersey area as the center of the universe. “Who doesn’t want to perform in front of their hometown?”

Lesnar then goes on to comment about working with Lesnar and Punk, “I work with my best friends,” he said. “I like to call them the best and the beast.” Samantha Sinclair, author of the article, goes further into Heyman’s relationships with these men. “No one but Heyman wanted to give CM Punk an opportunity to when he was in developmental promotions. In 2006, Heyman went so far as leaving the company over the use of CM Punk,” writes Sinclair. She goes on to say that Heyman refers to Lesnar as a, “once in a lifetime” athlete.

Heyman makes mention of taking the “personal” route with these two men’s WrestleMania storylines. “There’s nothing people can relate to more than personal issues,” Heyman said. “Who can’t relate to standing up and fighting for your family?” He goes on to say that he hopes Stephanie McMahon is NOT in Triple H’s corner on April 7th, and that, “When she hits me, it hurts.”

Heyman also discusses raising relief funds for the families and communities that were severely affected by “Super Storm Sandy.” He is auctioning off 2 tickets to a Monday Night Raw broadcast, and the ability to hang out with him backstage. You can find out all of the details about this auction and read Sinclair’s entire article at Trentonian.com.
