Extreme Rising has told its talent that it will be canceling all of its planned shows on the weekend of WrestleMania due to low ticket sales. Events had been planned in Philadelphia and Staten Island.

The Extreme Rising promotion is run by former ECW star Shane Douglas, and has been touring for the last year or so. After a rocky start, the promotion built up a strong following with shows consisting of mostly (but not limited to) ECW wrestlers of the past and some popular independent competitors.

Raven and Stevie Richards had been scheduled to headline the Philadelphia show, which is notably the home of where ECW originated. Former WWE Superstar Matt Hardy was also to take on Luke Hawx in a grudge match.

It is unknown how the cancellations will affect the future of the promotion.
