More information about WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross’s “retirement” has been revealed. As we previously reported, Ross was rumored to have been forced to retire (possibly fired), as a result of the WWE 2K14 panel incident involving himself and two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

Some rumors within the WWE state that Ross was let go days before the company announced his retirement. On September 10th, the day before his retirement was announced, a representative of the WWE’s publishing department reportedly called an author to tell him that the company had chosen him to write “good ol’ JR’s” autobiography.

A source within the WWE thinks the situation is weird and off-base, wondering why the WWE would even publicize his retirement, since most “casual fans” probably thought he was already retired (or fired) from previous WWE story arc.

As far as the responsibilities that Ross had with NXT, rumor has it that William Regal may be the guy who takes Ross’s role in the developmental program.
