On his official Facebook page, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley comments on how important “Elimination Chamber” will be for WWE. Foley discusses not only the importance of the next Pay-Per-View, but also his state of enthusiasm for the company, if he will be making any appearances for WWE anytime soon, and more.
Foley has been very vocal about his feelings toward World Wrestling Entertainment and its management as of late. First, Foley disclosed his current contract situation with the company to the world, then, following the outcome of the 27 annual “Royal Rumble” PPV, both Foley and his son Dewey took to Twitter and Facebook to express their disgust for the way management booked the event (and their disgust for management altogether). Foley even claimed that he would throw a brick through a television set in protest to how WWE is treating its most popular star Daniel Bryan as of late.
While Foley would later smash a flatscreen TV with a bat instead of a brick, he still came through on his word. Foley has always proven to be a man of his word. When the man who poured his heart into three different characters he was asked to play, and flew off (and through) the Hell in a Cell for the company he loved begins to trash talk you, theres a feeling that something must be wrong backstage.
Foley claims that the company has a chance to do what’s right and start pushing its work horses. Bryan is the most over talent in WWE by far with the fans, and is arguably the most talented performer the company has. Foley wants to see him pushed to the moon and be in the main event at WrestleMania XXX. That push needs to start on Feb. 23 at “Elimination Chamber” says Foley. He writes,
“A couple of days ago I mentioned in one of my posts that I was about 1/6 as excited about Wrestlemania as I was prior to the Royal Rumble PPV. I think we were all a little down that night. Well, the enthusiasm is returning – maybe not up to 100% yet – but somewhere in the halfway range. I am no longer thinking of selling my tickets, or canceling my flights and I am looking forward to being part of the biggest week of the year in our business. I might even serve in some type of official capacity for WWE – maybe even my own show somewhere during that week. But I don’t think it’s possible to overstate just how important it is that WWE come up HUGE on this elimination chamber PPV. I am doing a show in Minneapolis the night before the The Chamber and I intend to stick around for the PPV, even if I’m not a part of it – just because I get the feeling history might be made. For the sake of Mania, I think it NEEDS to be made.”
