KENTA is being set up as a major player in NXT, which WWE hopes will position the International superstar as a big name when he jumps to the main roster further down the road. The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair may even be placed with KENTA in the future to help establish him as someone worth paying attention to.

The company made their acquisition of the innovator of the “Go to Sleep” a big deal earlier in the year, when Hulk Hogan was used during the public contract signing of KENTA in Japan. The thought was, if Hogan makes a big deal out of him, the WWE Universe will want to know more about KENTA and will be excited to see his first match.

While KENTA is expected to keep his name throughout his WWE career, it is still unsure of if he will use his “GTS” finisher, which was first debuted in WWE by former WWE Champion CM Punk. With the relationship between WWE and Punk being as rocky and disheveled as it currently is, the company may not only allow KENTA to use the “Go to Sleep,” but they also may try to make it sound like Punk stole the finish, as KENTA was the creator of the move.

Ric Flair will be in the ring to bring KENTA out in front of WWE cameras for the first time during “NXT Takeover: Fatal 4 Way” on Sept. 11. According to reports, Flair may be used with KENTA moving forward to help establish him as a major player within the company.

Flair recently signed a television deal with WWE, where he would be used on programming and possibly put into the role of manager for someone. Many believe now that Flair will either be attached to KENTA on NXT, or he will be placed with his daughter Charlotte upon her upcoming move from NXT to the WWE main roster.

Editor’s Note:
Hopefully during “NXT Takeover: Fatal 4 Way” we get someone (most likely Damien Sandow as D.S. Punkdow) that tries to interrupt the debut of KENTA and he knees them in the face at the approval of Flair.
