In the latest edition of The Layfield Report, JBL comments on CM Punk’s WWE status. Layfield discusses Monday’s edition of “Monday Night Raw” in Chicago, mentioning memories of matches he had in the Allstate Arena, as well as providing comments on Punk.
JBL, who provides commentary for “Monday Night Raw” each and every week, made this statement in regards to Punk following the WWE Universe’s overwhelming desire to see Punk back in a WWE ring. Layfield says,
“I don’t know any facts on CM Punk-I had the honor of wrestling Punk in his first main events in WWE, including a cage match in Madison Square Garden. I have always enjoyed Punk and being around him, I certainly wish him the best-hope he comes back, but whatever happens my best to him.”
March 3 was the first night that any WWE superstar or on-air talent was given the green-light to mention the current Punk situation. There is no word as to if WWE executives are asking for them to shy away from commenting on the situation or not, but what is known is that Vince McMahon does not want Punk buried on WWE television in hopes that Punk will return very soon.
