Backstage Thoughts on Antonio Cesaro

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the backstage thoughts on Antonio Cesaro, real name Claudio Castagnoli, are very different from person to person. Some WWE officials feel that the Cesaro character is boring, while others in the company love his work and feel like he should be pushed into main event pictures. Some of the rumors backstage say that Vince McMahon is one of the top officials that believe Cesaro is boring, and does not want to see him pushed any time soon. This is why Cesaro’s character can claim he’s “unbeatable” after a dominant win over a champion one week, and then get beat clean by someone else the next. Creative has no idea what to do with him because of his mixed reviews backstage.

However, there is a general feeling among everyone that Cesaro is one of the best in-ring workers in the WWE. Cesaro is also talked about very highly by most people. The majority of thoughts on him are that he is well liked and respected by most people in the locker room, has no drug problems or childish issues, and works harder than most people in the back. His character is what seems to be the issue with those that aren’t supporting him, and when the head of the company isn’t fully behind the character, the question has to be, will Cesaro be taken off of TV and repackaged any time soon?
