A new edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed a look at some of the backstage thoughts on Chris Jericho returning to WWE for WrestleMania season. While some believe that Jericho will definitely return and place himself directly on the “Road to WrestleMania” as early as the “Royal Rumble” on Jan. 26, others in the WWE locker room are saying that Y2J will not be involved in the upcoming event or its build-up.

WrestlingRumors.net recently reported that advertisements spoiling Jericho’s upcoming return to WWE had been surfacing in Canada, but WWE officials continue to say that these media outlets (such as the Winnipeg Sun) made a mistake, and Jericho is not set to appear at any of the events advertised. WWE also went as far as to say the elevator ads that were rumored to be running in Toronto featuring Jericho do not even exist, and the stories of them being out there is ridiculous.

Jericho has recently revealed to fans that he will not be returning to the company “any time soon,” as he and his Fozzy band mates will entering the recording studio soon to lay down a new record. However, one cannot rule out a Jericho return this close to WrestleMania XXX, as he has always used social media to try and detour the WWE Universe from believing that he will be back in the WWE fold before the annual “Royal Rumble” Pay-Per-View takes place. He’s not only the best at what he does in the ring, but he’s also the best at trying to convince the fans that he will not be involved in the WWE product just before he walks through the curtain for a match.

Will he appear in the 2014 Royal Rumble Match, and then hang around as a part-time performer until after WrestleMania XXX? Only time will tell, as Jericho and WWE are the only ones who know for sure. Jericho will be in Pittsburgh the day before the Rumble takes place, but not in any kind of relation to WWE activities. However, if the leaked announcement actually does hold any merit, such as the leaked announcement of Batista’s return did, then we can expect to see Y2J very soon.
