PWInsider is reporting that although advertised, The Undertaker will no longer be making an appearance on “Monday Night Raw” this evening from Brooklyn, New York.
He was scheduled to at least be backstage, but instead flew home to Texas this morning. It should also be noted that although he was banged up after his match with Brock Lesnar last night at “SummerSlam,” he was feeling fine by the time he returned to his hotel room.
Paul Heyman will no doubt be addressing the controversial finish that occurred last night during the main event, though. Lesnar had Undertaker in the Kimura Lock, but before the referee could check whether he tapped out, the timekeeper rang the bell. Thinking he had won the match, Lesnar broke the hold, but when the referee was admonishing the timekeeper and telling him that the match was going to continue, ‘Taker hit a low blow on Lesnar, and applied the Hell’s Gate submission. A defiant Lesnar passed out, giving ‘Taker the official win.
As previously reported, Sting is reportedly in New York and will be appearing on “Raw” tonight. It was rumored that a potential match between Sting and ‘Taker would be set up this evening, but those plans may now be put on hold.
Editor’s Note:
I’m still holding out hope that Sting will call out The Undertaker for taking a shortcut to defeat Lesnar. With all of those combustable elements in one building, it will be interesting to see what happens tonight.
