The second-longest reign of the NXT Tag Team Championships has come to an end.

As seen during “NXT Takeover: Brooklyn,” The Vaudevillians defeated Blake and Murphy to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions.

As previously reported, NXT General Manager William Regal tasked The Vaudevillians to “even the playing field” for their Tag Team title match at “Takeover,” as Alexa Bliss constantly interfered in previous matches Gotch and English have had with Blake and Murphy.

Bliss started the match asking who The Vaudevillians have recruited as their equalizer. To the surprise of the “NXT Takeover: Brooklyn” crowd, Blue Pants decided to answer the call to help fend off Bliss during the match.

The two teams fought back and forth for a majority of the match, with both teams getting near falls. Towards the end of the match, Bliss entered the ring to distract Gotch and English, but Blue Pants cut her off and attacked her onto the floor.

The Vaudevillians then hit “The Whirling Dervish” and picked up the three-count for the victory.

WWE NXT and Triple H sent out the following pictures of the new NXT Tag Team Champions:

Editor’s Note:

I was highly impressed by the match these two teams put on. Also, the Brooklyn crowd was amazing during the match, and I legitimately popped when they started chanting “Blue Pants City.” It was nice to see The Vaudevillians finally capture the NXT Tag Team Championships after many failed attempts, and I would expect to see more great matches from these teams in the near future.
