We may be one night away from seeing “The Vigilante” back on WWE programming.
PWInsider.com is reporting that Sting flew back to New York City this evening and may be appearing on tomorrow night’s edition of “Monday Night Raw.”
He was in town for part of “SummerSlam” weekend, appearing at a “Meet and Greet” session on Friday, before flying out to Chicago on Saturday to attend a Wizard World event. This caused much speculation about his status for both the pay-per-view and “Raw” the following night.
It had been previously reported that he may be added to an upcoming pay-per-view later this year, but with the Undertaker being scheduled to appear, a match between the two will no doubt be rumored again.
The Undertaker was in the main event of “SummerSlam” Sunday night, where he defeated Brock Lesnar in controversial fashion. Lesnar had ‘Taker in the Kimura Lock, but before the referee could check whether he tapped out, the timekeeper rang the bell.
Thinking he had won the match, Lesnar broke the hold, but when the referee was admonishing the timekeeper and telling him that the match was going to continue, ‘Taker hit a low blow on Lesnar, and applied the Hell’s Gate submission. A defiant Lesnar passed out, giving ‘Taker the official win.
Editor’s Note:
Everything is set up for the epic encounter that is over 20 years in the making to take place. However, as we’ve seen in the past, WWE has been known to have incredible flaws and mishaps in their logic. But man, thinking about “The Icon” and “The Dead Man” in the same ring gives me absolute goosebumps.
