Last week on “Monday Night Raw,” Sasha Banks showed the world why she is “The Boss,” when she defeated Charlotte to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

However, Charlotte is not taking her defeat lightly, and is ready to reclaim her gold at “the biggest party of the summer.”

It was announced on WWE.com earlier this weekend, that Charlotte will invoke her rematch clause at “SummerSlam,” and will challenge Banks for the WWE Women’s Championship. Below is an excerpt from the official press release:

The Boss captured the WWE Women’s Title — a goal of Banks’ since her youth — on the July 25 edition of Raw, bringing Charlotte’s eight-month reign to a close. The astounding bout saw both women pull out all the stops, from Charlotte executing a moonsault to the floor, to Sasha stealing a page from her idol, Eddie Guerrero, and using creative means to get Dana Brooke ejected from ringside. In an emotional post-match interview, Sasha fought back tears as she proudly claimed to be the one and only Boss in WWE.

Adversaries since their days in NXT, where Sasha also ended a title reign of Charlotte’s, the two competitors have steadily pushed each other’s boundaries with pioneering matches that have redefined the Women’s division. At SummerSlam, however, Charlotte will find herself in the unfamiliar position of challenger. Will the self-proclaimed “Genetically Superior Athlete” — the daughter of “The Dirtiest Player in the Game” Ric Flair — resort to extremes to regain her title? What would it take for Charlotte to separate Sasha from the treasured prize she’s fought her entire life to achieve?

Editor’s Note:

No surprises here, but I don’t care one bit. Anytime these two get together, they put on an amazing display of athletic achievement. There is no doubt that this will be a classic, and I can’t wait for this storied rivalry to continue!
