The assumption of the WWE Universe was that Charlotte would be defending and losing the WWE Women’s Championship to Sasha Banks at “Summerslam.” After all, it has been rumored for months.

However, Sasha Banks became the WWE Women’s Champion by defeating Charlotte clean on the first Raw of the brand split. It was a great moment, but the WWE Universe still wants to know why it happened early.

According to information from Wrestlezone.com, it was rumored earlier today that the reason behind the early title change was due to the former WWE Women’s Champion requiring some time off.

However, it was later updated that Charlotte will not be taking any time off. In fact, her schedule over the next six weeks is being described as “brutal.”

The reason behind the brand split is because WWE officials felt that a big moment was necessary to give Raw a huge start after the WWE Draft and the Women’s title changing hands was their decision to create buzz.

There is no question after the success of their first match that “Summerslam” will still be Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks for the WWE Women’s Championship. The only difference is the title change has already taken place.

Do you think WWE made the right call choosing to have the title change on Raw and not on “Summerslam?”
