Last night at “Roadblock: End of the Line,” the cruiserweight division was put on notice, when Neville made his return to the company and annihilated TJ Perkins, Brian Kendrick and champion Rich Swann in a big heel turn.

While the cruiserweight division has been decent on both “Monday Night Raw” and “205 Live,” it seems that something has been missing and not resonating with the fans. They just don’t seem as interested as they should be, given that the action has been incredibly fast-paced and exciting.

However, in my opinion, Neville’s presence in the cruiserweight division will legitimize it in WWE.

I’ve been saying for a long time that one of the problems with the cruiserweights is that there hasn’t been a long term storyline going forward. The only one that they have had thus far, is when Kendrick asked Perkins to lay down for him in order to give him a championship run that he so desperately desires.

In addition, it can be difficult to have multiple storylines going on in the cruiserweight division, as each of the wrestlers may only appear on “Raw” once every 2-3 weeks. There is a possibility to develop their characters on “205 Live,” but I find it hard to believe that the casual fan will tune in every single week to find out how the stories will play out.

Enter Neville.

Ever since his time in NXT, he has shown how amazingly gifted he is in the ring. His amazing agility allows for him to soar to new heights and astonish everyone with his stunning move set. Combine that with the fact that he has spent a significant amount of time on the main roster, and you have a legitimate superstar in the company.

Neville is a perfect fit for the cruiserweight division. His skill set and athleticism is a perfect fit for what they can do, and he will bring instant credibility to these fine athletes. If given the chance to develop a long term storyline with Swann, this feud could single-handedly put the cruiserweights on the map and give fans a reason to tune in.

And that would be best for business.
