Last night on “Smackdown Live,” we saw a new, edgier side to Renee Young.

After The Miz retained the Intercontinental Championship against Apollo Crews, Young would head into the ring for a post-match interview with the “A-Lister.” However, things quickly became awkward and blurred the lines of kayfabe.

Young asked Miz if his obsession with Dean Ambrose prevented him from winning the Fatal 4-way Match last week for an opportunity to compete for the WWE Championship. Miz quickly turned it around and said that Young was the one that was, in fact, obsessed with Ambrose due to the fact that she is sleeping with him.

This would cause Young to lose her cool and slap The Miz to end the segment.

WWE.com caught up with Young after the incident, and acknowledged that her and Ambrose are in a relationship. However, she continued by saying that Miz made petty comments and that she had to stand up for herself.

Editor’s Note:

This was fantastic. “Smackdown Live” tends to be the show that the more hardcore fans tune into and appreciate, and I think that blurring the lines of kayfabe is acceptable on this show. Plus, the segment continued to prove why Miz needs to be in the world title picture sooner rather than later. He is just so good.
